Books

For me, my published works are one of my favorite ways to share new ideas, tips and projects. I'm always working hard on my next book, but you can always pick-up the latest Simply Green books or calendars to help you live a green and gorgeous life. Check out my growing list below and be sure to check out the slide shows for inside peeks in the books, too.

All of the projects are accompanied by clear step-by-step instructions and are all illustrated with gorgeous, full-color photography.

Simply Green Giving: Create Beautiful Gift Wrapping, Tags and Handmade Treasures from Everyday Materials (Collins; September 2006)

Finding environmentally-friendly alternatives to wrapping paper, ribbon, gift cards and even the gift itself has been a slight obsession of mine. This book is full of ideas that are ecological and—this is a rather important point here—gorgeous. There are also clever ways to recycle ribbon, cards and paper from presents people give you. Last, but not least, there are gorgeous last-minute gift ideas that don't look like an afterthought and are gifts people will actually love.

A few highlights:

  • Use old VHS tapes to create fanciful and chic black ribbon bows on presents
  • Use free wooden cigar boxes as handsome gift boxes for homebaked treats
  • Transform boring gift cards into miniature shopping bags
  • Recycle an old book into a ring box
